Frequently Asked Questions Related to Gambling

Question: Why do celebrities play poker?

Answer: Because they are normal people and it is something they enjoy, just like anybody else.

Question: What is gambling?

Answer: Gambling involves three elements: Prize, Consideration and Chance. If one of these elements is removed, it is no longer a gambling activity. For example, if you pay a fee to play a game of chance (such as poker, blackjack, bingo, roulette, craps, slots, etc.) for a prize, it is a gambling activity. However, if you play these games for free (no entry fee or wager) it is not a gambling activity.

Question: What is a Sit and Go Tournament?

Answer: A sit and go tournament is a tournament that requires players to buy in with a certain fee. The combination of everyone's buy in creates the prize for whoever wins. Everyone is then given an equal amount of chips, which may be completely different from the buy in amount. The winner is the one who remains after everyone else loses their chips. For example, let's say there is a Sit and Go tournament with a buy-in of $10, and 10 people play. Everyone gets maybe 50 chips. The winner at the end wins the prize pool, a total of $100 ($10 x 10 people = $100)
